Our indoor heated pool is located in the Waves of Superior Spa and Recreation Center. The pool area features a vaulted pine ceiling, L-shaped lap pool with depths ranging from 3’-4’, a hot tub overlooking Lake Superior, sauna, and men’s and women’s changing rooms with showers and guest towels. Indoor pool hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; access is provided with your room key card.

Our premium fitness center, located in the Waves of Superior Spa and Recreation Center, features health club quality equipment and breathtaking Lake Superior views you won’t find in any health club! Tune up your body on our treadmill, elliptical, stationary bike, and free weights with weight bench. The pool and fitness center hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. daily; access is provided with your room key card.

Waves Café, located on the main level of the Waves of Superior Spa & Recreation Center, offers light and healthy fare ranging from simple to inventive. Hours vary by season; summer hours are 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily. Menu is available for takeout to your Surfside townhome or suite.

Surfside’s sister resort, Bluefin Bay, offers two award-winning restaurants less than a mile away. The Bluefin Grille is a full-menu restaurant and bar located just feet from Lake Superior. The Grille serves up some of the most breathtaking views on the North Shore, as well as regionally inspired cuisine including fresh Lake Superior trout.

The Coho Café & Bakery is best known for its award-winning pizza, fresh baked breads and pastries, and specialty soups and salads. Coho Café also offers picnic lunches for daily excursions. Both restaurants deliver to Surfside guest townhomes on weekends; daily during the summer.

Surfside guests have access to recreation equipment at Surfside Guest Services, as well as to all activities and outdoor equipment provided at our sister resort, Bluefin Bay. Between the two resorts, guests can enjoy complimentary recreational equipment for all seasons. In the winter, we offer complimentary use of ice skates, cross country ski equipment, and snowshoes. In the spring, summer, and fall, we provide mountain and road bikes, guided kayaking excursions, hiking trail guides and backpacks, tennis equipment, badminton and bocce ball sets, and more - all to help you enjoy the beauty of the North Shore.

Surfside’s 780’ ledgerock shoreline, right on Lake Superior’s edge, provides plenty of opportunity for exploring. There is a walking path to direct guests safely to the shoreline. Walking paths are located between units 14 and 15. A campfire area with a campfire ring and wood camp stools is located on the parking lot side of the resort behind units 11-14. This provides the perfect opportunity for evening campfire songs, stories and s’mores. Ask Guest Services for your complimentary s’mores kit!

A number of gas grills are located throughout the resort and available for use all year long. Each townhome building (set of three) has a new gas grille for guest use, providing the perfect opportunity for lakeside cookouts and picnics.

Sit back, relax, and leave the driving to us during your fantastic North Shore getaway. Our complimentary shuttle service runs to and from area hiking, biking, cross country skiing, and snowshoeing trailheads. Surfside also shuttles guests to and from Lutsen Mountains Ski Resort throughout the winter season.

At Surfside on Lake Superior, we enthusiastically welcome new guests and are delighted to greet return guests each year. The Surfside Guest Services building is open every day during peak times and select hours in the off-season. In order to best accommodate the needs of our guests, the Bluefin Bay Guest Services building and staff (located less than one mile away) are available to Surfside guests 24 hours a day/7 days a week.
