The Bluefin Bay Family of Resorts has hosted more weddings this summer than ever before! The wedding parties have also enjoyed the pampering they receive at Surfside's new "Waves of Superior Spa," the North Shore's only full-service destination spa. Waves of Superior Spa is open to the public seven days a week. Appointments are recommended. I recently had a conversation with a Waves of Superior Spa client who told me that Waves of Superior Spa rivals some of the best spas in North America.

We continue to host regular open houses at Surfside Thursday through Monday 10 to 4. If you're visiting the Lutsen-Tofte area, it would definitely be worth your time to stop by Surfside and tour the vacation homes and the fabulous on-site amenities. Please feel free to contact me if you would like more details. I hope to see you at Surfside soon!

Rain Gardens

If you have visited Surfside during the warmer months, you may have noticed the rain gardens that have been planted in between each of the townhome buildings. The rain gardens at Surfside are designed to capture and take advantage of rainfall and stormwater runoff from impervious areas such as the roofs, sidewalks and drives. We have selected several species of native plantings that absorb excess water flowing into the rain gardens. Water filters through soil layers before entering the groundwater system. Root systems enhance infiltration, moisture redistribution, and diverse microbial populations involved in biofiltration. Also, through the process of transpiration, the native plantings return water vapor to the atmosphere.

Surfside’s rain gardens are designed to withstand the extremes of moisture and concentrations of nutrients, particularly Nitrogen and Phosphorus, that are found in stormwater runoff. This reduces rain runoff by allowing stormwater to soak into the ground and greatly reduce the amount that enters surface waters.

The rain gardens are just one of the many environmentally friendly aspects that have been incorporated into the design of Surfside. Other green aspects include a geo-thermal system, state-of-the-art wastewater treatment facility, eco-frindly James Hardie cement board siding, 98% energy-efficient furnaces, and energy efficient Andersen Windows that capture sunlight all day long, which provides natural solar heat to the units.

Open houses are currently being hosted Thurdays through Mondays 10 to 4. I invite you to contact me or stop by the open house to learn more about Surfside and discuss how you can own a stable income-generating asset within this premier resort community.
